30 Hour OSHA Construction Industry Voluntary Compliance with OSHA Compliance Cards Syllabus

The Guide to Voluntary Compliance 30-Hour Construction Industry Safety and Health Outreach Training Program are intended for all entry level employees and employees that have responsibility for health and safety compliance. The course can be customized for your company and incorporates OSHA's approved curriculum of the 29 CFR 1926 Construction Industry Standards. All attendees will receive 30-Hour Occupational Safety and Health Course Completion Cards from OSHA after successful completion of the programs.

The classroom instruction will be combined with competency-based workshops that enable participants to demonstrate proficiency with the acquired skills.

The following outlines represent the OSHA approved curriculum:

Mandatory Three, Two, and One Hour Course Topics

Three Hours:

  • Introduction to OSHA Standards, OSH Act/General Duty Clause 5(a)(1), STD 3-1.1, "Clarification of Citation Policy Regarding 29 CFR 1926.20, 29 CFR 1926.21 and Related General Safety and Health Provisions"; Safety Programs

Two Hours:

  • Subpart K: Electrical
  • Subpart M: Fall Protection

One Hour:

  • Subpart C: General Safety and Health Provisions, Competent Person
  • Subpart D: Occupational Health and Environmental Controls, (Emphasis on Hazard Communication)
  • Subpart D: Health Hazards in Construction
  • Subpart E: Personal Protective and Lifesaving Equipment
  • Subpart F: Fire Protection and Prevention
  • Subpart H: Materials Handling, Rigging, Storage, Use and Disposal
  • Subpart I: Tools/Hand and Power; Machine Guarding
  • Subpart J: Welding and Cutting
  • Subpart L: Scaffolding
  • Subpart N: Cranes, Derricks, Hoists, Elevators and Conveyors
  • Subparts O, W and G: Motor Vehicles, Mechanized Equipment and Marine Operations; Rollover Protective Structures and Overhead Protection; and Signs, Signals and Barricades
  • Subpart P: Excavations
  • Subpart Q: Concrete and Masonry Construction
  • Subpart X: Stairways and Ladders
  • Confined Space Entry
